Some Like it Hot~

Some Like it Hot~

And  I am
 one of them....

To say this has been a long winter would be like putting                                                              lipstick on a pig!

So I sit here waiting for the snow to melt,
knowing it won't be long before we are out there  sucking up the sun and suds, toes in the water butt in the sand!

I grew up here in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, Webster Lake in Franklin, NH was my home and what we thought as kids our private little playground.

With the first signs of Spring I begin planning............
what kind of trouble can I get into this Summer.

Although a little more grown up I still feel the same way.
Don't get me wrong I love the four seasons of New Hampshire,
I just start forgetting I love them about this time of year every year!
We where lucky not to receive the 12"-14" inches of snow as predicted this week.  Thank goodness
~Mud Season will be upon us very soon~
Then before we know it a crocus will appear,
signals we have left the dark side.

My mother Pat Cabot Pond Salem, NH and her parents on right.
So today I will focus on the sun, riding, the beaches and the rivers.
Knowing soon it will be time to go on tour around my favorite
stomping grounds.
So if you haven't made any plans yet on vacationing in NH this Summer, think about it!
We have so much to do and so many places to play.

Now , I have to take a minute to thank the three ladies who rescued me last Saturday night from what I hope will be my last snowmobile ride of the season.
Yes, I love snowmobiling but enough is enough.
After a long day on the trails from Alexandria to Hebron to Dorchester to Canaan, to Groton  Scott's snowmobile overheated (Yup Overheated!) for the last time of the day. We were fortunate enough that it died in Groton on the railroad tracks in front of a house with lights on. It was by this time, 11:30 pm and getting colder by the minute, when Scott decided to knock on the door and ask for water to refill his very dry reservoir. Scaring three very nice women half to death! Thankfully~ two came out with water and a flashlight the third stayed inside ready to dial 911...LOL! After a few minute they offered us their car to drive home, another hour  ride by snowmobile, they didn't even know us but that's true New Hampshire people always willing to help.
We said "no,no Thank You though"
then they decided it was just too cold and late for me to ride all that way,
ha if they only knew me they would know it's never too late or cold for riding!
But I took them up on their offer knowing that it would take 2 hours for both of us to get back (and not really sure his sled would make it)  Scott would go much faster without me so he took my sled left his with me and headed to get the truck. Great idea.... I walked through the door and was handed a
Jim Beam Manhattan and we began to chuckle!
I'm on the "No Jack list not the No Jim"Once they realized I wasn't dangerous (right) we had a great time. This picture was on the table it's of  two of the three I just loved it. They are now in their 50-somethings!
After seeing this and the cocktail I knew I was home
~ gotta love New Hampshire~
So ladies ~~Thanks Again for the rescue and a great time,
I hope to see you again!
